Country Simplicity

Downsizing has never been part of my vocabulary when it comes to organisational matters. Rather I prefer this to be treated as a proper 'right sizing' of my own situation values. It is merely a matter of taste and control , a control of my own destiny. I have never been comfortable with larger premises any more than the ones down at Salamanca Place nor the one at the ex RSL Club at 6 Victoria street in the middle of the city. I know what it takes to run just a small personalised but labour intensive industry a simple eating house such as this. I do dread the idea of being carried away by imposing Body Corporate with its Chairman,a President,a Treasurer and a paraphernalia among other things including the much detested Annual General Meeting .

Indeed I do feel more contentment from where I am now to where I was before from the madding crowd in spite of the commuting distance. But really this in a small city like Hobart is no more than fifteen minutes a stone throw away from the nearest city suburb such as Sandy Bay or South Hobart via the Expressway. Perhaps a mere short welcoming walking stroll for the Sydneysiders and Melburnians. There exists a very close affinity between the business operators and the local community for the folks here are brimmed with warmth and friendliness.

Small is beautiful. Small is simple and less complex though it can have its confounded problems. There are all told seven tables up for grabs on weekends simply because we only have seven tiny tables provided in our dining hall. We don't do numbers like the way they do 'turnovers' but we do try to count and inculcate everyone for every number is of specific and of intrisic value. We couldn't be anymore diplomatic and emphatic than to reiterate the much repeated ... it is wise to book for your weekend table at Dom's .
